nosweet Fall 2013

There is a lot to love about recently founded Polish brand nosweet: its motto (“clothes for well behaved children of misbehaving parents”), the fact that its entire collection is made from GOTS certified organic cotton and dyes, and of course the story behind the name. Founded by two moms who think that children are sweet enough as is, the line is void of any bright colors, saccharine hearts, and girly florals. What’s left is a collection of clothes with unique patterns (how neat is that bug print?!) and soft colors that can be mixed-and-matched and are always gentle on children’s delicate skin. The designers call the line’s clothes “24 hour clothes,” meaning they are versatile enough to be worn day or night, winter (as layering pieces) or summer (on their own). Head on over to nosweet’s site to view more; we hear an online shop is in the works!

How sweet and dreamy are these illustrations by the Swedish artist Maja Lindberg? Inspired by fairy tales, dreams, and childhood memories, Lindberg’s creations are whimsical, imaginative, and a bit mysterious. Can you believe that she starts each illustration by hand, before moving to the computer? She does! They are visually beautiful and will certainly encourage creativity and hours of play – perfect for a kid’s room or play space. Be sure to check out her store on Etsy to see more!
