Baby Rompers in Cotton Cashmere

The Album di Famiglia Favilla baby romper is obviously beautiful, but what maybe its nicest quality is actually hard to see, its fabric.  I call it cotton cashmere because it feels soft and warm like cashmere, but unlike cashmere it is made of machine washable cotton so it’s is easier to care for.  Take a close look, you will love it. Top 10 Reasons We Love Eco-Friendly Bamboo Baby Clothes

Cute baby in eco-friendly Estella Bamboo Layette One-Piece

We’ve decided to play Letterman and hold a countdown for the Top 10 Reasons We Love The Eco-Friendly Estella Bamboo Layette Collection of baby clothes. Drumroll, please:

10. Soft as a baby’s behind. The Bamboo Layette collection is not only super soft, but silky smooth, making it perfect for babies’ sensitive and delicate skin. EverydayHealth.com goes as far as saying that bamboo’s luxurious texture is “comparable to that of silk.

9. Born in the U.S.A. Our bamboo line is made entirely in the U.S.A. From the design process to the fabric, each piece is hand-crafted right here in the U.S.

8. Responsible baby. Bamboo is not only a completely eco-friendly, renewable resource, but it’s biodegradable and can be grown with very little impact on the environment. According to the LA Times, unlike conventional cotton, “bamboo grows quickly without requiring chemicals or pesticides.”

7. Breathe easy, baby. Aah, now your baby can breathe easier than in those synthetic fabrics. Bamboo is porous so it’s extremely breathable and comfortable against the skin.

6. Cool & hot baby. Bamboo is thermodynamic, highly moisture absorbent, and protects against the sun’s harmful UV rays — so it keeps your baby cool as a cucumber in hot weather and warm as a pickle in cold weather.

5. Stylish baby. Our Bamboo Layette line is available in pastels and neutrals, which go well with polka dots, florals, and whatever other fun things your kids’ wardrobe has.  So play stylist with your baby by mixing and matching Bamboo basics with brighter pieces. For a baby girl, you can pair Bamboo leggings with a baby girl dress. For a baby boy, you can pair a Bamboo long-sleeved T-shirt with baby boy pants. The basics are also perfect for layering and use as pajamas.

4. Happy mommy. Because bamboo fabrics have antibacterial, anti-fungal, and deodorizing properties, mommy won’t have to wash them as often.  And when the baby spits up, it will be a little less stinky.

3. Healthy baby. Bamboo is hypoallergenic. Its organic and natural properties make it non-irritating, and thus perfect for a baby’s sensitive skin.

2. Comfy baby. The Bamboo Layette Collection goes perfectly with our soft, plush Larucci blankets, made in Italy with faux fur and suede.

And the number-one reason we love the Bamboo collection…

1. Rich mommy. Save money by buying any two Estella Bamboo Layette Collection pieces at regular price and automatically getting 50% off any Jellycat Stuffed Animal or Estella Knit Toy from now until Feb. 28, 2011.

We could go on and on about why we love Bamboo, but we’d love for you to find out for yourself!

Rock ‘n Roll and Bad Bedroom Paint Choices

yhst-87491494023326_2105_73691720

Purple seems to be the color of choice in our house, at least where my child is concerned. She adores anything and everything in this shade. I’m not joking or exaggerating. Everything must be purple—crayons, markers, clothes, grapes. Even the lilacs in our yard get more of her floral fascination than the other blooms. So deep is her love for the purple, I’m surprised she doesn’t walk around trying to fall down, just so she could get a bruise or two. Only two purple passions escape her—she still has no idea who Barney is (thank goodness) and I still can’t get her to eat beets. Other than that, everything else is up for grabs.

Simple Kids knows that kids are anything but. And that is reflected in their baby clothes designs. So when they designed this cardigan they took that into account. The special touches they added really turn a simple staple sweater into something simply beautiful. And it’s purple. It has precious ruffles for a feminine flair, it’s purple, and boasts big buttons for an exaggerated sweetness (and tiny fingers). And it’s purple. And did I mention that it’s a brilliant purple color that would even make my purple princess happy.

I’m waiting for her to be a teenager. If she continues this obsession, not only will she discover the band Deep Purple, but she will also make the request, “Mom, can I paint my room purple?” I should start buying primer and ear plugs now. Now if I could just get her to eat beets.

The Girl with the Snazzy Red Sweater

cardigan

They call her “The Girl with the Snazzy Red Sweater”.  She is a natural fireball and this girl doesn’t shy away from anything.  Fear is not a word in her own personal dictionary. Uncertainty does not exist. If there is a puddle to leap over, a stair to jump off of, a ball to kick or a tree to climb, the Girl with the Snazzy Red Sweater is up for the challenge.  That tricycle doesn’t intimidate her.  Why would it?  Roller skates?  Pish posh! Some say that her sweater is what holds her powers; that unshakable self-confidence and joie de vivre must come from somewhere and she is never seen without her snazzy red sweater.

Well, it is a fantastic handmade sweater after all. A gift from her Uncle Peter (who is rumored to have taught that recent gold medal Olympian all of his really cool jumps), this Baby Girls Hand-Knit Cardigan by Mormor Nu says, “Here I am!  What do you have for me?”  Her baby sweater is created with a super soft cotton and wool blend for the perfect mix of snuggliness.  Just because she is fearless doesn’t mean she does not like soft things.  She loves soft and snug baby clothes! Made in Denmark, this red cardigan is a great marriage of style and practicality.  Gorgeous silver buttons complete the look.

So go ahead and cheer her on.  The girl with the snazzy red sweater is part daredevil, part angel.  Red-y or not, here she comes.
