Anais & I Girls Clothing

POSTED Feb 9, 2011

ANAIS & I just in spring little girl clothing estella

Anais is the luckiest toddler girl in the world. She grew up being dressed by her mom Jane D’Haene, the former head of an interior design firm and now, designer of Anais & I. From her diaper days, Anais has played the role of design consultant, fit model, and fashion critic. Who wouldn’t want to have a personal stylist since the day they’re born? No wonder the Anais & I line is so simple, chic, and easy to wear.

As you know, little girls can sometimes be very particular about their wardrobes, and Anais & I, in our opinion, understands that perfectly and doesn’t talk down to them. Instead of presenting the typical “princess pink” fare, D’Haene (and Anais) make sure little girls are dressed like the worldly sophisticates they are from Day 1.

Spring offerings from Anais & I at Estella include easy-breezy cotton play suits, tube dresses, ruffle halter dresses (all pictured above), as well as swing skirts. We are impartial to the Anais & Pink Ruffle Halter Dress, $98, for several reasons:

1. It puts a twist on that typically girly look by making it look more sporty with 100% cotton sweatshirt-type material, a racer back, and a loose, comfortable fit.

2. It’s locally produced in the Garment District in New York City, like all clothing by Anais & I.

3. The ruffle is cute and elegant, but not too frou-frou or frilly.

3. It’s pink! OK, we said it, we actually like pink.

Girls Outerwear:  Best Little Girls Coats

They say that no two snowflakes are alike, and by looking at your little snowflake dancing in her winter coat you can say with complete confidence, “That is SO true!”  Yet you can also notice that your little snowflake has grown quite a bit since last winter, so you’re in the market for a new coat.  With all of these great choices, how will you pick just one?

yhst-87491494023326_2132_42744030Appaman’s metallic pink Puffy Down Coat is a futuristic fashionista’s dream.  A new classic, the puffy down coat offers warmth and urban chic style.  The knitted ribbing around the hood keeps body heat in.  For a twist on the classic down coat, why not go for a bit more length a slightly fitted silhouette with Appaman’s Long Down Coat?

You’re completely smitten with Album di Famiglia’s Paula coat. This little wool number is the go-to coat for special winter occasions and dressier events.  The charming Peter Pan collar is the perfect way to top this Italian A-line beauty.

Smart is the word to describe Anais & I’s Shiny Jacket.  Smart, sassy and spunky — this cropped jacket is lined with fleece for soft warmth.  Sp perfect with jeans or dresses, you’ll wish New York based Anais & I made this jacket in your size.

Still, your final option may be the winner. Album di Famiglia’s stunning water repellent goose down-filled Lina kimono is perfect for any winter charmer since it’s as stylish as it is warm.  The unexpected kimono silhouette is whimsical while still being cool as heck.

New York City Saucy

POSTED Aug 30, 2010

There’s just something about New York City. Whether you live in Texas, Tennessee, or Timbuktu, you know about the pervading NYC vibe that makes everyone from newborns to nannas unbearably chic. And for whatever reason, New Yorkers have definite preference for one color: Black. It makes sense, really. Black is the ultimate neutral to be worn with pretty much everything. It’s a color that should and usually does appear in everyone single person’s wardrobe – from the fairest to the deepest complexions. There’s always a place for the darkest of dark hues.

For some reason, though, when you’re a little one folks often assume that you should be wearing cartoon characters and crazy colors all over. You know better. You know that black is far from boring and when rendered in the right fabric it can be down right saucy! That’s why you choose garments like the girls Shiny Jacket from Anais & I. It’s the right color to wear with jeans or with a party dress, plus it’s sheen makes it clear that it’s not just your everyday parka. It’s functional with a fleece lining.  It’s fantastic; it’s very New York.
