We’re thrilled to be welcoming Atusyo et Akiko into the Estella family this holiday season! The Brooklyn-based line has a knack for taking everyday basics and creating pieces that are whimsical, colorful, and unique. Never one to shy away from fluorescent colors, girly details, and loads of bling, the quirky designs appeal to young girls’ playful personalities and make great gifts (who wouldn’t want this gold tutu or tiara hair band?)! As an added bonus, much of the line’s graphic tops are made in the USA in 100% organic cotton. Head on over our site to view our entire collection!

Our daughter loves to “clink” glasses. Actually she loves to clink anything food-related. We’ve caught her attempting to toast with forks with broccoli (apparently the “clink” makes it taste better…I say, whatever works), sandwiches (which don’t really clink, they really make a more muted “thump” sound) and slices of cheese (they go “squish”).
Since we didn’t sit around the table when she was an infant, toasting each other all the time on the job well done in parenting our new baby, we’re not quite sure when this started. But we have a theory. We think that it’s her desire to share the experience of enjoying her food or drink with a friend. The “clink” is fun and always comes along with a smile from both parties involved. In the case of the broccoli, I think it’s more misery loves company.
The “Salut!” T-shirt from Atsuyo Et Akiko’s baby clothes collection is perfect for her. The comfy organic cotton makes her smile, as she “clinks” her way happily through most meals and snack times. And the neon puts an extra statement factor into it. It’s almost as if you didn’t hear her the first time, just look at the expectant glimmer in her eye and read her shirt. You’ll get the picture and join her in the celebratory toast.

I don’t speak French. I consider this a flaw of mine, since the language evokes the loveliest of emotions. You could read the phone book in French and sound romantic, feminine and interesting. And really, who doesn’t want to sound romantic, feminine and interesting while reading the phone book.
I’m currently having the sweetest little French love affair. And no, it’s not with the phone book delivery guy. Soft and comfy, with an almost a faded look to it, the Je T’aime Brooklyn baby T-Shirt and its subtly sparkly pink self has captured my heart.
Coming from a decade full of “sayings” tees (the ‘80s had so much to share and it was all written on the front of a ripped Flashdance-esque T-shirt), I thought I had just about had it with catchy phrase clothing. But this really sweet take on the I Love New York motto is très girlie and cute.
For a oui bit more adoration, designer Atsuyo Et Akiko’s chose the best organic cotton for his baby clothes and had the shirt hand-silk screened actually in the Big Apple itself. So whether you love Brooklyn, simply like it OK or have never even met it, this child adds a je ne sais quois to every outfit.
