Lines We Love :

While we usually stay away from the big name designers for kids, Stella McCartney’s line has such a playful and joy-filled flair to it, don’t you think? Instead of the usual stuffy designer clothing that has been miniaturized, Stella’s clothes are comfortable, practical, and most importantly accommodate children’s free and fun loving nature. View the entire fall collection and shop here.

They call her “The Girl with the Snazzy Red Sweater”. She is a natural fireball and this girl doesn’t shy away from anything. Fear is not a word in her own personal dictionary. Uncertainty does not exist. If there is a puddle to leap over, a stair to jump off of, a ball to kick or a tree to climb, the Girl with the Snazzy Red Sweater is up for the challenge. That tricycle doesn’t intimidate her. Why would it? Roller skates? Pish posh! Some say that her sweater is what holds her powers; that unshakable self-confidence and joie de vivre must come from somewhere and she is never seen without her snazzy red sweater.
Well, it is a fantastic handmade sweater after all. A gift from her Uncle Peter (who is rumored to have taught that recent gold medal Olympian all of his really cool jumps), this Baby Girls Hand-Knit Cardigan by Mormor Nu says, “Here I am! What do you have for me?” Her baby sweater is created with a super soft cotton and wool blend for the perfect mix of snuggliness. Just because she is fearless doesn’t mean she does not like soft things. She loves soft and snug baby clothes! Made in Denmark, this red cardigan is a great marriage of style and practicality. Gorgeous silver buttons complete the look.
So go ahead and cheer her on. The girl with the snazzy red sweater is part daredevil, part angel. Red-y or not, here she comes.

It’s Saturday afternoon and you are taking a stroll down Carnaby Street. The crazy new tune by that amazingly cute band plays on the radio in a shop down the road, streaming down the lane. And as you shine, wearing your best Twiggy look — a crisp black micro mini dress with some terrific red patent leather flats — the charming handsome stranger talking in the telephone booth winks and waves at you. Being the brave one that you are, you saunter up to him and say…nothing. Nothing at all since your alarm clock rings and rudely interrupts.
Well, your Swinging Sixties dream may be gone at the light of day but that doesn’t mean you have to give up your stylish Mod sensibilities. Imps & Elfs gorgeous Top Stitch Baby Dress is here to fill that void and dress up your tiny dandy while making her the talk of the town.
And forget about polyester, baby. Polyester is so yesterday! This Imps & Elfs beauty is made with 100% cotton and has great swing. The white cotton fabric is accented with black piping and groovy decorative “pockets”, The look is complete with a trompe l’oeil Peter Pan collar. Your baby girl will be the cat’s meow in this dress.
So what if Carnaby lives on only in your dreams. Take your little gal out and paint the town red, together. Live and laugh! In her Top Stitch Baby Dress, she’ll be ready to go.
Baby, it’s a mod world.

My daughter turns three years old tomorrow. Wow. That was kinda tough for me to write. I can’t believe it’s been three years since I held her in my arms for the first time. The days are flying by. Who am I kidding? The years are flying by.
She’s not a baby anymore. She’s rockin’ the big girl status. But there are those precious moments, every so often, when she still looks…tiny. She’s still her tall big girl self, with great conversation skills and a huge opinion on most things (wonder where she got that from?)…but sometimes she just seems so small. To me, anyway.
Usually it’s when she’s wearing some kind of uber-girly outfit. There’s something innocent about ruffles and tiny blossoms that make her look so sweet. You just want to scoop her up in your arms and rock her like a little baby doll. This is usually about the time that she tells me she’s not in the mood, corrects me for pronouncing something wrong, and I’m immediately snapped back into the big girl reality that is my daughter. Yes, she’s my kid. No question.
This Cotton Liberty print baby and girl’s blouse from Bon Bon’s Spring 2010 collection is a perfect sweet touch for any little girl, from three months to six years. This French designer has being a little girl down to an exact science. It might be the flutter wings, the little flowers (trés Laura Ingalls) or the sweet three-button detail. Whatever it is, it’s the quintessential little girl’s outfit topper.
So, happy birthday, Bug. You’ll always be my baby girl. No matter what you’re wearing.
