The fall 2014 Atsuyo et Akiko collection, Royal, has arrived at Estella! The Brooklyn-based brand’s designers, Atsuyo Yang and Akiko Mukae, have a talent for designing and producing clothes for baby and toddler girls’ clothes that are feminine, whimsical, and imaginative. Always one to embrace girly details, lots of sequins, and bold colors, the brand combines its designer’s French and Japanese design aesthetic into a line of clothes and accessories that appeals to young girls’ playful personalities and imaginations. As an added plus, Atsuyo et Akiko is committed to creating clothes and accessories that are produced (often by hand) in the USA, and many of the t-shirts are made from 100% organic cotton.
For fall, the duo added new colors and details to its popular girl’s tutu, continued to design its practical yet fun screen-printed graphic t-shirts, and introduced new decorative pillows, including this blinged-out sequin heart cushion. There are also tiara hair bands, princess crowns, and wands that are wonderful gifts and, when paired with the line’s tutus, make fun girls’ costumes and or dress up clothes. Check it all out here!

Lines We Love :

Here are a few images from Paade Mode‘s beautiful AW14 collection, “Below the Snow.” The Latvian brand offers organic, smart casual clothes for children that are all ethically produced in Latvia; the brand’s founder, Linda Raituma, supports the slow fashion movement, where clothes are thoughtfully designed and manufactured using natural fabrics and technologies that are child & environmentally friendly. The brand often partners with small artisans, ateliers, and studios to hand-make its clothes in a socially and economically conscious fashion. The result is a collection of sophisticated yet wearable pieces – like cozy knits, girls’ dresses, & toddler boys’ clothes – that are exquisitely made and intended to enhance children’s personalities instead of supersede them.
Paade Mode’s fall 2014 line is full of lovely, winter-esque colors and ultra warm pieces. “The snow creates a story, same as parents create the story of their children. Little, delicate, and vulnerable, yet so colorful, bright, and exuberant. Each their own person, thinker, filled with joyful smiles, capability for unconditional love and trust. The play between snow, pines, bushes and trees emphasizes their unique colors and forms while loving parents give children the chance to grow into beautiful and free personalities.” Cozy wool knits (cardigans, skirts, & scarves), thick plaid dresses and tops, and deep blues & maroons are found throughout the collection – the perfect pieces for a fashionable and versatile winter wardrobe. There are cute graphic t-shirts & toddler leggings that can be worn every day as well as girls’ faux leather skirts & fur coats for toddlers that are also appropriate for more formal occasions. Our garments are user-friendly for both children and adults: they’re easy to put on, just as easy to take off, and require very low maintenance.”
As an added bonus, everything about the line, from the design process to production is done right here in the USA. What are your favorite pieces? Head on over to our website to view the entire OmamiMini fall 2014 collection & check back later this week for an interview with Ola, the designer!
